Information and Forms for
Synchronized Skating Teams
Oceania Development
Program
This junior development program fast-tracks Primary to
Novice level skaters to Junior International level in a co-ordinated three year
project between Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. The focus of the program
is to strengthen the level of competition and raise the standard of skating
within the region through training camps and providing educational
opportunities. The Oceania Cup Series team event also provides additional
competition experiences to further the development of these skaters.
Pairs and Dance Development Project
Ice Skating Australia would like to hear from any
skater who is interested in competing internationally for Australia in Ice
Dancing or Pair Skating during the next four years.
Skaters between the ages of 10-16 (Ladies) and 10 –
18 (Men) who believe they have the ability and the commitment to succeed in
these figure skating disciplines are encouraged to submit an expression of
interest.
Forms are
welcome from current Teams or Couples or individuals seeking an appropriate
partner.
A range of development initiatives are being offered in
2010 as part of ISA’s Strategic Plan for High
Performance and Junior Development. These
development Camps are a unique opportunity for skaters
to ‘come and try’ a specific discipline and develop
skills. The camps also provide a forum for skaters
and coaches to collaborate and share ideas. Please refer
to ISA
Communication #23 for further information.
Ice Dance Development Camp
A successful Ice Dance Camp
was held on the 17 and 18 May at the Liverpool Catholic
Club Ice Rink, Sydney. 23
skaters attended and gained valuable knowledge and
practical experience from Pavel Aubrecht, Maria and
Evgueni Borounov , Danielle O’Brien and Gregory
Merriman. Thanks to all who assisted to make this a
successful camp.
Synchronized Skating Development Camp
The Synchronized Skating Development camp will be
conducted by Shelley Barnett, Canadian Coach for Nexxice
(2009 World Synchronized Skating Champions). This is an
fantastic camp opportunity with a wide range of sessions
designed specifically to assist with the development of
Synchronized Skating. The three day camp will be held
at IceWorld Boondall, Brisbane on the 16,17 and 18
August.
