The National Squad is for
athletes who demonstrate ability for nomination
to international events. The squad
consists of a High Performance level, four
development levels and a synchronized category
according to the ISA National Squad 2008-2009
Criteria (HPP-0807).
The squad is conducted on
a yearly cycle from one Australian Figure
Skating Championships to the next.
Athletes will be placed on a level based upon
their National results or the level obtained
within the previous season. Levels will be
adjusted throughout the competitive season with
their final level confirmed on 31st March
2009. Skaters qualifying in more than one
squad level will always be placed in the higher
squad level.

As a member
of the squad, athletes qualify for financial
assistance as stated in the
National Squad Criteria. The amount of
assistance will be based upon their final level
as of 31st March 2009. Athletes, coaches,
parents and team managers are reminded that
funding is subject to the terms and conditions
as outlined in the National Squad Agreement.
All of the
requirements detailed in the
National Squad Agreement
and Handbook need to be met to ensure
athletes' receive their national squad financial
assistance.
