Pairs Champions 2017

Ekaterina Alexandrovskaya and Harley Windsor
Ekaterina Alexandrovskaya and Harley Windsor accomplished something no other Australians had ever done ~ win the world junior title. Attaining a total score of 163.98, the first-year team clinched the gold, Australia's first medal of any colour at this ISU international event since Elizabeth Cain and Peter Cain took the bronze in pairs in 1976.
The Australian pair completed a triple twist, triple salchow, triple toe-double toe-double toe combination and throw triple flip during their free skate, which was set to music from the W.E. soundtrack. Their only error came when Alexandrovskaya fell on the throw triple salchow. Despite that mishap, the Junior Grand Prix finalists achieved a new personal-best score of 104.16 points to rank second in the free skate, while their overall total of 163.98 points was enough to move them up from third to first in the final standings.
Ice Skating Australia and the skating community are so excited for both of these talented athletes! Their hard work and dedication is admirable, as is the team who have trained and supported them. With Galina and Andre Pachin, their Sydney coaches and their whole support team, they are enjoying a wonderful dream come to fruition.
Please enjoy this celebration of Katia and Harley's superb achievements, as well as those of the other members of TeamAUS ~ SINGLES: James Min and Holly Harris ~ ICE DANCE: Matilda Friend and William Badaoui.
